The goal of the workshop was to create the concepts of technological solutions for a smart hospital and roadmaps for their development and implementation at the Almazov Centre. Apart from representatives of the Almazov Centre and Shvabe Holding, specialists from MIPT, SPbPU, SPbGETU “LETI” and LLC “Digital Medical Services” attended the event.
At the beginning of the workshop, representatives of Philips, GE and Siemens presented their vision of the development of healthcare technology in order to immerse participants in the context of the smart hospital.
The workshop’s practical work was based on the design thinking methodology. Design thinking is one of the most successful approaches for the rapid development of products focused on the real needs of users. All participants of the event were divided into three interdisciplinary teams: each team had specialists with different expertise for the most effective exchange of ideas and experience.
During the two intensive days, the teams used empathy development tools to meet the needs of doctors and patients and went through the processes of generating ideas and developing rapid prototypes. As a result of their cooperative work, the teams presented solutions for the smart hospital in three areas: Home to Hospital, Artificial Intelligence, and Remote Monitoring.
For further development of the concepts created during the workshop, Almazov Centre, Shvabe Holding, Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, St. Petersburg Polytechnic University and St. Petersburg Electrotechnical University LETI have created joint working groups responsible for product development.
